Mark Westgate

UnPlanned Renovation Director

Mark Westgate grew up in Pleasant Hill and graduated from Santa Barbara’s Westmont College with a BA in English. A brief career in construction ended with an unsuccessful attempt to use an extension cord in pouring-down rain. Mark began working with Grainger, selling industrial-supply products to contractors, manufacturers, hospitals and government entities. As his interests and expertise evolved, he gravitated toward the lighting industry, developing energy analyses, financial modeling and cost savings proposals and programs for contractors, distributors and manufacturers. As UnPlanned Renovation Director (UPR) at 16500, he will focus on helping clients save time and money through energy upgrades.

Mark met his wife Jamie at Westmont, and they’re very involved in the activities of their three daughters; over the years, Mark has coached his daughters’ soccer and volleyball teams. The family looks forward to skiing in the winter and wakesurfing or tubing in the summer on Lake Berryessa and Lake Shasta. A new passion is four-wheeling, but it comes with a challenge. “While I’d love to say I’m an accomplished ‘crawler’, the Jeep is my wife’s, so after a day in the mud, it has to come back clean!”
