Jacques Lafontant

Specification Support

Jacques was born in New York City’s East Village. He graduated from LaGuardia High School of the Arts and UC Santa Barbara with a double major in Studio Art/Cultural Anthropology. Jacques’ fascination with
light began early. When he was just one, he pointed at a lamp and spoke his very first word: “Light”. A lighting enthusiast was born.

Before joining the 16500 team, Jacques managed New York’s Whitney Museum of Art bookstore for five years, where he learned most of
what he knows about catalogs and other literature. Jacques has a wide range of interests: He’s a licensed cosmetologist, has a community college certification in Automotive Engine Performance and Diagnosis and has a Black Belt in the Japanese art of Aikido. Jacque migrated to the Bay Area for the same reasons many of us end up here—quality of life. A beautiful natural environment and an urban art and culture scene like that of his native New York
