Daniel Cartaina, LC

Specification Support Lead

Danny is one of our in-house lighting designers, juggling the roles of Inside Specifications Support and occasional Outside Specifications Sales backup. Danny’s interest in lighting was sparked while attending New York’s School of Visual Arts as a photography major. After graduation, he moved to California to work as one of the main lighting designers at The Engineering Enterprise (TEE) in Alameda, where he won an IES Lighting Award for his work on The William & Flora Hewlett Foundation. Danny teaches lighting design and has served as a judge for the prestigious IESNA Lighting Awards. Prior to his lighting career, Danny ran his own fine art printmaking studio in Jersey City, NJ, for many years. He is a published short story writer, has had three short plays produced by the Eastenders Repertory Company, and is a ferocious bocce ball player. Danny joined 16500 in September 2014.
