Brett Handerson

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

Born and raised in Massachusetts,
Brett graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH, with a degree in Criminal Justice.

His lighting industry career began in inside sales at Color Kinetics—before it was acquired by Philips Lighting.
He became a regional sales manager for Color Kinetics, selling  Architectural and entertainment lighting fixtures and controls. Progressive career growth brought him to the Bay Area in 2011. As the system sales lead for Philips’ national accounts team, he focused on LED and controls specification for the retail and hospitality industries. Projects included large-scale LED installations at Facebook’s corporate office and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Brett was also part of the team that completed the Bay Bridge LED lighting project--the largest LED lighting sculpture in the world and now a permanent part of the SF skyline.

When he’s not working, Brett looks forward to hiking, skiing and road trips. His lighting industry interest doesn’t stop when he leaves work—he loves to find, restore and sell mid-century light fixtures. While Brett has embraced the Bay Area culture, sports loyalties last forever and he remains true to the New England Patriots and Boston Red
Sox. A big baseball fan, Brett volunteers as an advanced scout and sabermetric analyst for the Sonoma Stompers, an independent league baseball team.
